Researchers observed fat intake of more than a hundred women, aged over 30, who were undergoing fertility treatment at Massachusetts Hospital. Women who included the highest intake of monounsaturated fats in their diet increased their chances of pregnancy by up to three times.

After monitoring the volunteers for an average of six and a half years, the specialists identified that the women with the greatest adherence to the Mediterranean pattern had a 44% lower probability of consulting a doctor due to difficulties in becoming pregnant.
