Chlamydia Infection: Mouth to Mouth, Vagina

Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by bacteria. It is known as the silent and most common STI, as well as one of the most easily spread. It is an infection transmitted through any unprotected sexual activity. A person contracts chlamydia when their mucous membranes come into contact with the chlamydial bacteria.

Chlamydia can spread when a person is infected with chlamydia does oral sex but not by kissing or sharing a glass, among others. And such person should be treated and avoid any kind of sexual contact until the treatment is finished for 7 days, even if it is a single dose.

The partner should be treated and the infection can be re-infected. It is highly recommended to always use a condom, even during oral sex.

The treatment consists of antibiotics, so it will be necessary that you go to an evaluation since they require a doctor’s prescription.

Chlamydia from Mouth to Vagina

A person can contract oral chlamydia if they perform oral sex on an infected partner. Chlamydia can be easily transmitted when an infected person touches vagina by his lips/tongue. This bacterial infection is transmitted by an infected sexual partner when there is contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth or throat during unprotected sex. It can be transmitted from the mouth to the genitals or vice versa. This disease is transmitted via oral, vaginal, anal and ocular routes.

This can also be caused after using another person’s sex toy without sanitizing it thoroughly.
